Thomas R. Wilkins, CCIM, CRB, GRI, is Broker of Record and CEO for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins & Associates, with corporate offices located at 404 Park Avenue, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 and CEO of NEPA Management Associates a subsidiary of WARE, Inc. Mr. Wilkins is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Real Estate Broker (multi-license), license number RM-048502-A and is also licensed in the states of NJ and NY. Mr. Wilkins is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Certified Real Estate Appraisers and holds a General Certification, License Number GA-000558-L. Mr. Wilkins has been involved in the Real Estate industry as an Investor, Real Estate Associate, Sales Manager, Consultant and Property Manager for the past twenty-five years. Mr. Wilkins is a graduate of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS and holds the CCIM Designation. The CCIM Designation is given only to persons who have completed an extensive series of Commercial Real Estate classes, and has sold or rented a minimum of $25 million in Commercial Real Estate. He holds the designation Certified Real Estate Broker, CRB, sponsored by the Real Estate Brokerage Manager Council. He has completed the 3-part course sponsored by the National Association of Realtors and holds the prestigious GRI designation.
A native of Monroe County, Thomas R. Wilkins is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors, Pocono Mountain Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, Employee's Relocation Committee, Lehigh Valley Association of Realtors, Scranton Association of Realtors and the Pike Wayne Association of Realtors. Mr. Wilkins is an appointed member of the Monroe County Affordable Housing Committee which position he has held for the past seven years. He is a past donor to the Pocono YMCA, a past donor of the Friends of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and a donor to the Pocono Medical Center. He is a lifetime member of Trout Unlimited.
Mr. Wilkins is one of the founding members of the Monroe County Landlord Association (MCLA) and holds the position of Treasurer with that Association. Mr. Wilkins is the past Treasurer and Financial Advisor to FADS, Fine Art Series, a not for profit concert series for children, a past Board of Directors member of the Pocono Mountain Association of Realtors (PMAR) and past Chairperson for the Government Affairs Committee, a committee of the PMAR. While operating, Mr. Wilkins was a Participating Underwriter donor and Treasurer of the Mountain Laurel Center for the Performing Arts and is a donor to the Sherman Theatre, a not-for-profit Theatre of the Arts. Recently, Mr. Wilkins has been appointed to the Advisory Boards of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC.

Mr. Wilkins was involved in the resort and leisure oriented business for fifteen years before entering the real estate profession. He was Director of Sales/General Manager, and a member of the Executive Committee for Caesars Pocono Resorts, which operated four up-scale resort properties in the Pocono Mountains from 1980-1985 before becoming involved in the real estate industry full time in 1985.
His involvement in the real estate field has included the sales of literally thousands of residential and numerous commercial properties, estates, farms and businesses. His services have been retained by major Fortune 500 companies as a consultant, site selector and negotiator in the development of shopping centers, residential developments, fast food locations, bank sites and other numerous commercial ventures. Mr. Wilkins has appeared as an expert witness for divorce actions, bankruptcy, estates, ad valorem tax appeals, evaluation, and valuation case for a variety of Corporate Clients and Attorneys. He has also appeared on television and has been cited in numerous articles pertaining to Commercial Real Estate and Property Management. For five years Mr. Wilkins was an instructor for Penn State University's Real Estate Continuing Education Department specializing in Real Estate Investment and continues to be a Professional Speaker and Consultant for the Real Estate and Property Management Industries. He still holds an Instructor's License. In May of 2005, Mr. Wilkins was interviewed on nationwide television for the popular CBS news program, "Eye on America".
Mr. Wilkins has been quoted or his articles published in such trade magazines and blogs as RIS MEDIA Real Estate, Inman News, Pocono Business Journal Online, Northeast PA Business Journal, Reuters, LORE Magazine and PAR Realtor Magazine.
In 1988 he founded Wilkins & Associates Real Estate, Inc.; in twenty years the firm grew to over 110 Realtor Associates to become one of Northeast PA's largest Independent Real Estate companies. Wilkins & Associates Real Estate, Inc. has eight (8) offices in the Poconos. Wilkins & Associates is involved in sales and rentals of both Residential and Commercial Properties as well as sales of lots, acreage, farms and estate properties. In July of 2008, Wilkins & Associates became the first affiliate in Better Homes and Gardens, a subsidiary of Realogy Corporation. This move, while begin a landmark decision, positioned the company to achieve dramatic growth over the next 5 years.
In 1991, a full time division was formed to ensure the continued growth of the company and NEPA Management Associates became a division of Wilkins & Associates Real Estate, Inc. and in 2008, when Wilkins became an affiliate to Better Homes and Gardens, a subsidiary. Today NEPA Management is one of the largest privately owned Management Companies in Northeast Pennsylvania. NEPA Management Associates employs a full staff including Wilkins as CEO, (3) Property Managers, (1) Administrative Assistant, (1) Vice President/Controller, (1) Operations Manager, (4) Bookkeepers, (2) Secretary/Receptionists and a full department of maintenance and housekeeping personnel. The accounting office is open Monday - Friday. The Management Department is open 7 days a week and offers 24-hour emergency telephone lines to ensure safety and prompt response time. All on site and off site computers are modem accessible to the main office at 304 Park Ave. NEPA Management currently is working on growing their maintenance services to include commercial housekeeping services, carpet cleaning (both residential and commercial) and other general maintenance services to their existing clients and the general public.
In 1995 Wilkins & Associates Real Estate Inc. opened a Short Term Rental Department that handled hundreds of vacation homes, timeshares, RV's, and townhouses in a variety of Communities through out the Pocono area. They specialized in weekend-weekly-monthly and seasonal rentals. In early 2004 the Department was closed due to the soft vacation market and will reopen fulltime in late 2008 under the direction of NEPA Management and will cater primarily to Corporate Rentals and upscale vacation communities throughout the Poconos.
In early 2005, Wilkins & Associates Real Estate, Inc. opened a Relocation Department to handle the growing needs of their customers and clients. Through the company's nationwide network of cooperating brokers, sellers, when they use Wilkins & Associates, can earn rebate dollars to help them buy their new home whether it's across town or across the country. Because of the expanded market that Wilkins & Associates covers, they have been chosen by a number of relocation companies to assist their buyers, typically employees of Fortune 500 companies, purchase a home in northeast Pennsylvania. In mid 2005 the department was expanded to five (5) full-time employees and is supervised by a Director of Support Services. By affiliating with Better Homes and Gardens, it is estimated that this Department will also expand.
