In my world "MILWAUKEE" means the metro area - the five counties that comprise Metro Milwaukee. That would include Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee and Racine counties. Slightly farther fringe counties also include Dodge, Jefferson and Walworth. Having been born and raised here, and living most of my life (so far) here makes me sort of an expert on "Living and Working in Milwaukee" . To "outsiders" Milwaukee has an image of a stodgy, old fashioned small town, beer brewing blue collar city - think "Laverne and Shirley". In reality Milwaukee and surrounding communities in Waukesha County, Ozaukee County and Washington County comprise a very upbeat and evolving urban environment, Heck, we even have Starbucks! Seriously, Milwaukee boasts some world-class amenities such as the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee County Public Parks System, of course our jewels... Lake Michigan, Miller Park, the beautiful new home of the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team, the fabulous Milwaukee County Zoo and much, much more. Our blog will be dedicated to life and work in the Metro Milwaukee area. Some visitors to Milwaukee have expressed alarm and dismay when entering the city via General Mitchell International Airport (the "International" part of that is kind of funny when you see the teminal - not your typical big city airport). If your first impression of our city is the airport, please don't run - stay and find the more evolved features and I promise you will love it here!
One of the perrennial favorites is Summerfest - billed as the WORLD'S LARGEST MUSIC FESTIVAL! Held at the Heny Maier Festival Grounds - named after a long term mayor from the 60's and 70's - along the lovely lakefront just south of downtown, this 10 day music extravaganza draws hundred of thousand of visitors during it's annual stint. The party commences with "The Big Bang" an incredible fireworks display put on by the famous Bartolotta Family - on the Fourth of July or the night before. The fireworks exploding above Lake Michigan - breathtaking! World famous musical acts are booked at the Marcus Amphitheater on the Summerfest grounds, and there are several smaller stages for the second tier and local talent. The Summerfest grounds are used all summer and into fall for various ethnic and other music festivals. We know how to take advantage of great weather when we get it! | At exactly this time one year ago my husband and I were on our way to close on our first home. It probably shouldn't have taken me this long to sit down and write a review, but the last year has been very chaotic one. As anyone who has purchased a home knows, the experience is a stressful one and for a young couple with two young children and a limited budget it can also be a very intimidating process, that is why we feel so fortunate to have had Ben Mullikin taking care of us. While I'm sure other realtors may be just as knowledgeable as Ben, I guarantee you that you will not find another that is as enthusiastic, compassionate, and invested in making sure you find the home that is right for your family. While we were very impressed throughout the buying process, we were most impressed with how much the entire Mullikin family continues to care about having a lasting relationship with their clients. About two months to the day after closing on our new home we had major electrical damage done after a severe storm took a tree down outside our home. We had never had to hire an electrician or file a claim with the insurance company so we called Ben for advice. Not only did he provide us with a recommendation for a great electrician, but he came out to see our family that night with a touching card from the Mullikin family. We have enjoyed the last year in our home and look forward to many more, but when it comes time for us to look again we know that will be calling Ben! |

| In September of last year, I found Martin through Zillow as we were relocating to the Milwaukee area and reached out. He showed us home after home in every section of the Milwaukee and all of its suburbs, even those he realized might not be a good fit, and let us make up our own minds. He was extremely urgent and available, at one point even fielding a call from a sale by owner at midnight the night before a showing because that owner couldn't figure out how to use the key box. His responsiveness, urgency, and willingness were the best of any agent I've worked with (and we've relocated for work several times). |

| I had the pleasure of working with M3 Realty while purchasing my first home. I worked mostly with Ben and was very pleased with the experience. He knew what to look for when we visited homes and he explained everything to me. He gave me good advice about what to be noticing in all rooms of potential buys. Once I chose my perfect home, Ben was there for me every step of the way. Again, he explained the whole process and I felt very confident in my decisions. I learned so much about buying a house and it's because Ben took the time to be sure I understood. He was flexible with his schedule and always on time. I would highly recommend this family owned and operated business. They are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They love what they do and it shows everyday! |

| We chose Pat and team based on a friend's recommendation. SHE WAS AWESOME! Selling and relocating is a busy time for anyone and Pat put forth a tremendous effort for us. She effectively guided us through our necessary decisions with smart suggestions. Pat clearly explained our options along with potential ramifications. Her local market knowledge proved invaluable.
