In a time where women are deservingly emerging as corporate leaders and innovators, Gloria Donnon seems to have found her natural fit.  As a successful REALTOR@ business woman, she is dedicated to serving her clients and customers, while launching the careers of some of New Jersey's most promising sales associates and brokers. Gloria has always had a penchant for helping others.  Her initial career was in nursing where she spent 10 years as an operating room supervisor in a major Philadelphia hospital.  It was during this time that she chose to start and raise a family. Gloria's success as a nurse instilled a level of self-confidence that constantly appealed to her creative and challenging side.  That desire to seek a new challenge served as a natural calling to real estate, where she could make better use of her outgoing personality in conjunction with her eye for detail. Gloria initially joined a national franchised real estate firm, where she quickly began to build her business.  In her fourth year as a REALTOR@, she made a transition that would forever impact her career.  She left her office to join a local company. She was  drawn by the unbelievable potential for growth and positive atmosphere she found there.  The owner was looking for a director of training and Gloria, never one to shy away from a challenge, accepted the position.  Soon after, her new company joined a national franchise.  In the meantime, her efforts helped the business grow from three offices to 15 branches in two states.  Her talents were soon recognized by the Franchisor, who then recruited Gloria to share her knowledge as a training director with offices that encompassed a two state region.  Within two years of joining, we earned the award for the highest profit center out of all of the company's offices across the United States," remarks Gloria proudly.  That distinction drew even more attention to her skills, and she was moved to a national training position.  Gloria recalls traveling across the country as she worked with brokers and agents, and says that the experience was "a great honor" noting that she is proud to have been a part of the company's success story. In 1989 Gloria and her husband Doug West, dove into her biggest challenge yet; they opened their own company, named OMNI Realty.  From the start, Gloria and Doug sought to differentiate themselves among their peers, and they found that technology provided them the ideal avenue to do so.  "We started out as a high-tech company with an emphasis on high-touch management," she says.  "Back then, the professional level of most brokers was markedly different that it is today." The couple infused their service-oriented business with that era's top technological tools, including faster computers and cutting edge software. She is confident in deferring to her outstanding office personnel, all of whom play key roles in maintaining the standard of quality that marks OMNI Realty and its agents.  "My office manager Teresa DePaola is also a broker. "She is kind and intelligent and is loved dearly by my agents.  She genuinely has a heart for helping and teaching" Claudia Muldoon, Administrator, and Bill Muldoon, Director of Training and Human Resources, round out the professional staff whose efforts enable OMNI REALTORS@ to excel in their field.  Muldoon coordinates advertising and marketing efforts, while Bill ensures that sales associates receive the ongoing training and support they need to further their careers.

 "Sales associates with OMNI Realty enjoy opportunities that they won't find within other agencies," says Gloria.  "Nobody was born into this business.  They had to come here."  Agents are encouraged to build professional teams, to effectively establish their own offices within OMNI Realty.  As a matter of fact, we prefer to recruit personalities, not just experienced agents, to broaden our greatest asset base.  This greatly molds and shapes a real team concept," says Gloria. Another bonus to joining the OMNI Realty team is an incentive plan that encourages agents to recruit talented individuals to the company.  "We can teach the business of real estate," Gloria explains, "but we cannot teach someone to have a good personality.  When we see enthusiastic individuals who are high-energy, enthusiastic and who have a great outlook about themselves and their work, we know that they will make great REALTORS@."  When OMNI Realty associates bring new agents on board, they earn a percentage of the company's closing commission. Gloria and Doug's agent-centered approach has fostered a group of happy sales associates and a professional yet comfortable atmosphere.  The positive atmosphere is felt by employees, agents, and visitors alike.  "People enjoy coming into our office," Gloria remarks.

 The agents bring an impressive combination of talents, experience and education to OMNI Realty.  Bilingual sales associates are able to reach out to the Hispanic and Portuguese communities.  A common thread among all of the associates is their love of the business and genuine desire to serve others.

 In keeping with their Company name, Gloria and Doug have built a business that allows their agents to become "total and all encompassing REALTORS@."  Sales associates assist clients on a variety of transactions that include residential resales, new construction, commercial and industrial properties and even real estate auctions.

 Eleven years ago, the couple opened Centennial Construction, which builds high-end homes and some multi-family units throughout South Jersey.  Centennial Construction provides an excellent avenue for OMNI'S sales associates to build their new construction clientele.  "We have been very fortunate in both businesses," Gloria reflects.  "Our clients have been very good to us, and have brought a great deal of referral and repeat business to us.  We know that we will never be any better than the last transaction and we must endeavor to continue to earn the client's trust and respect." 

As broker/owner, Gloria oversees her office staff and agents, and is with her agents throughout the day and into the evening.  "I believe that agents need someone to talk to, whether it's me, my office administrator or our manager," she says.  "One conversation can be the difference between making or breaking a deal and we always want to see our sales associates succeed.  Therefore, someone from our management staff is available 7 days a week."

 In addition to her tireless efforts in supporting her sales associates, Gloria is also an active REALTOR@ who continues to list and sell properties.  "I like to keep my finger on the pulse of our marketplace so that my knowledge can better guide my agents," she says.

 Gloria's clients appreciate her real estate expertise, which includes an understanding of financing and a comprehensive knowledge of the market.  "Few agents know our region like I do," she states.  That knowledge hasn't come just from plying her trade; Gloria dedicated a year to learning the region, spending six hours each week in new developments.  She has since shared her findings with her associates, enabling them to take advantage of her hard work.

 After years in the business, Gloria has become a familiar face in the real estate market.  As such, she has built an ongoing list of prospective buyers and sellers, who often turn to her for help in finding the other end of the deal.  Like a matchmaker, she has a knack for pairing buyers with sellers, and frequently sells her listings before they're ever placed on the market.

 As successful as she is, Gloria shares the proverbial wealth with her agents.  She encourages them to advertise her listings, and often refers buyers to sales associates within the office.

 While her industrious nature keeps her busy at work, Gloria always finds time to spend with her family.  She and Doug have 3 daughters and 5 wonderful grandchildren, Stephanie, Nick, Michael and twins Alex and Ryan.  She also enjoys a good game of tennis and relaxing at the Jersey shore.

 Humbly reflecting upon her impressive career, Gloria says that she feels fortunate, even blessed.  "We have worked very hard to establish our business," she notes.  "Real estate has been good to us, and we are most grateful.  We're grateful for our agents and our clients, and look forward to continuing and building on the relationships that we have developed in addition to creating new ones."
