She served for 7 years as a member of the Mississippi Air and Army National Guard as well as the Civil Service Commission for the Mississippi Military Department and was an active participant in the Mississippi National Guard Parachute Team.
Sherry is a horse lover and an avid Saddlebred show horse enthusiast. She and her husband Ed, owned and operated a Saddlebred breeding farm prior to their move to Argyle in 1997 and was actively involved and served as a member of the board of directors with the Big D Charity Horse Show Association and as past President of the North Texas American Saddlebred Horse Association.
