As a native of Greenville, SC, I spent 42 years living on the property that has been in my family for over 80 years before moving to Dacusville in September 2010. In July 2012, my family and I bought a 21 acre farm with an old farmhouse in Pickens, SC. My husband, Guy Crowe, and I have been married for 15 years and have four children between the two of us.
I have been in the real estate business since 1987, when at the age of 19, I went to work for Ed Burgess Co., Inc. The following year, 1988, I obtained my real estate license. I worked in the real estate and building industry until May 1999. During that period, I worked most of those years in one of the most popular, starter home subdivisions in Simpsonville, SC, as Office Manager/Construction Coordinator. After May 1999, my husband and I decided that staying at home with our children was most important.
I also have another attachment to the real estate business outside of my employment with Ed Burgess. My mother is Judy Gilstrap, Executive Vice President/Principal/Broker, of Community First Real Estate, Easley, SC. I began assisting my mother years ago with clerical duties. In 2012, when my mother made the decision to semi-retire, she approached me about eventually taking over her real estate business and contacts. My husband and I made the decision that it was time for me to return to the workforce. I returned to the Wyatt Institute of Real Estate in March 2013, and I obtained my real estate license again on May 1, 2013. My mother and I work as a team under the team name Judy Gilstrap and Associates for Community First Real Estate.
I have a strong background in the real estate and building industry on many levels. I use the skills that I have learned over the past 25+ years from being associated with the industry and education. My greatest passion lies within the Westside of Greenville, Pickens, Anderson and Oconee Counties.
Currently I am a member of the National Association of Realtors, South Carolina Association of Realtors and Greater Greenville Association of Realtors (Multiple Listing Service).
