I live in Durham with my wife Betty.  I joined Alera Financial after spending 16 years as the Owner/Broker in Charge of my own real estate firm in Yuma AZ.  I have enjoyed spending the last 5 years helping my clients find just the right mortgage options. Alera Financial gives me the opportunity to use that experience and vast product knowledge to provide a high level of customer service and expertise.

This market will define the players that are really here for a reason.  This is to help our homebuyers and home sellers. There are many key issues, the one most obvious is that you do not have to be a large player to survive.  In fact, just the opposite.  The large players tumble harder and bring everyone down around them.

 Now more than ever we all need to rely on each other and utilize the resources and talent that all of our core service providers bring to the table. "One stop shopping" was a term that was keyed many years ago, but was never fully executed. The belief that the consumer needs choice in the selection process for mortgage, title and insurance is true.  What was not true is the consumer's actual decision was based upon influence that ultimately did not benefit the consumer financially.

Alera Financial has diversified and brought offerings through some of the finest financial institutions in the market - Chase, Wells Fargo, Flagstar Bank, BB&T, RBC to name a few. We are back to the basics with a winning direction that focuses on our relentless attention to customer service and our commitment to the agents and home buyers that we service. The only thing that will differentiate us from our competition is that we truly understand the realtor based purchase business.  Who is our customer?  The answer is "Our Agent" and the "Home Buyer".  Many banks, mortgage brokers, bankers and savings and loan associates have really forgotten who their customer is.

Just recently we teamed up with American Home Shield, which allowed us the opportunity to offer a home warranty to all first-time homebuyers. This ultimately was done for two reasons.  First, it is a real value to our homebuyers and the second reason is that our agents now have a great selling tool to differentiate themselves from their competition.  I am excited about our aggressive approach to technology, online status reporting, web-based links for consumer self pre-quals and our new touch screen kiosk.

While the financial markets continue to "figure things out" and we all settle down, Alera Financial will be here to serve your needs. With interest rates at an unprecedented low and mortgage money still available, "now is the time".
