Get to Know Mark Salmon, Epro

Mark Salmon came to Lake Tahoe in 1995 after growing up in Southern California.  For nearly a decade he worked in the lumber industry in Tahoe and gained a huge knowledge of building materials and techniques for residential and commercial projects.  He created lasting relationships in the building community with contractors of every expertise.  It wasn't long before he pushed up through the ranks to later become the highest grossing salesman in the West Coast for Meek's Lumber Company.

During his early years at the lumber yard, he met his future wife, Amber.  Mark and Amber soon brought two daughters, Bailee and Morrison, into the world and family became their true driving force to becoming successful.  Mark enjoys playing an active role in their children's sports and activities, but feels especially fortunate to have had the freedom to be around them so much during their childhood.

In late 2006, Mark joined Pinnacle Real Estate Group which was a new independent brokerage comprised of a collection of top producing teams with over 20 years experience in Lake Tahoe real estate.  Since then, Mark has become an intricate member of the Pinnacle Team with consistent production in even today's tough market.  It doesn't matter if its land, residential or a commercial project, Mark has dealt with all the nuances involved in the complex world of Tahoe real estate.  His enthusiasm and wisdom of the real estate market will assure confidence in every transaction for both buyer and seller alike.

Because of my background and relationships within the construction world, my expertise has been in land and new homes.  I've overseen the construction of many custom homes for myself and had to deal with the vast nuances of local building services, especailly the TRPA.  The red tape can be very thick in Tahoe sometimes and buyers and sellers need the knowledge of a local realtor that has actually been through the process in order to help them properly.  It seems that it would be very difficult for any individual to sell a home without direct knowledge as to how it was built or the process that it took to go from raw land to a turn-key product.  I wouldn't dare sell an automobile without knowing all the details of how it was put together or what makes it special over others.  Answering any and all questions about a home with the utmost confidence has been an intricate part of my success.

Of course, this knowledge is carried into other areas of real estate as well, such as multi-family dwellings and commercial buildings.  Having rental properties myself, has been very helpful in guiding buyers to the right investments.  It's essential to know the neighborhoods that would have the best chance for success on either long term or vacation rentals.  Where would I buy? and why?  Once you find a property that creates residual or passive income for a client, you've made a friend for life and a huge referral resource.

There is no area of a real estate transaction that I haven't been through, but I still understand the importance of a strong realtor referral network for out of town areas that I may be asked about.  You cannot directly transfer your strengths to an area that you're not familiar with.  It's a recipe for disaster.  But, a good realtor should have connections with out of town agents that have a good track record that a client can trust.
