Born and raised in Staunton Virginia, in the magnificent Shenandoah Valley. As a teenager I learned the plumbing trade through a friends dad, and learned the carpentry trade through a general contractor. Spent 3 years in the US Army. Upon returning from military service I relocated to Philadelphia Pa. where I spent 15 years with one of the areas leading automobile dealers, learning leasing, and ending up as the Finance Manager at a major Acura dealership. This training allotted me the experience to talk with financial folks and introduced me to a segment of financial paper.
I returned to Virginia, where I started a small business of remodeling homes. I would buy at the pre-foreclosure stage, fix and retail the property. From there I became an ASHI certified home inspector and did home inspections for 9 years, along with my investment business. I met my wife in 1998 and moved to Louisiana, where I started buying, remodeling and flipping Short Sales and REOs.
In 2007 I was introduced to the note buying segment of investing, though the learning curve was long, I stuck with it and firmly believe in the concept that "the learning is in the doing" I now buy non-performing notes both commercial and residential. After taking control of the paper I then do a work out with the homeowner. If a plan can not be worked out then I turn the process into a Deed in Lieu, Short Sale or Foreclosure Auction. Upon completion of one of these options, I then wholesale the property or the note to an investor or end user.
