I have always had roots in the Ridge Meadows area. I graduated from Pitt Meadows Elementary, went straight into Pitt Meadows Secondary. I spent a few years away at university in Terrace, Prince George, and Winnipeg, but have always considered this area my home.
Many people in town recognize me as the "guy from the bike shop". I spent a few years managing Maple Ridge Cycle, before joining my wife and forming a husband/wife mortgage brokering team that now combines for over 20 years experience in the mortgage industry.
Obviously I would love to say that I have only clients with over 700 beacons, steady jobs, plenty of income, and only have a mortgage to 50% of their million plus dollar home. But I would be lying through my teeth.
The majority of Janet and my clients are "outside the box" clients. People that are self-employed, lower beacons for a variety of reasons, and have lots of 'non-provable' income. These people are really not a credit risk, and it is our job to make banking institutions realize this and take a chance on them.
We both appreciate a challenge when it comes to finding a mortgage product that works for the more difficult clients, but are never adverse to being thrown an "A" deal every now and then.
