Get to Know Kathy Ng

I have lived in Philadelphia most of my life and I like to go around to explore - find the little hidden restaurant, explore a new store, etc. - so I would claim that I know the area pretty well.  I have been a licensed real estate agent since 2003 and have completed close to 200 transactions.  Before that I attended Penn State University and graduated with a computer science degree.  I would like to brag that it shows I am one of the most tech savvy agents out there, but in all honesty I am not, and I had to pay someone to help develop my website.  But I do like math and analysis and I will be constantly updating my website www.Philly-ForSale.com with the newest real estate sales data, trends, neighborhood and school information, etc.

My office is in Fishtown, Philadelphia, and I currently live right off the city border in Montgomery County, and I sell real estate anywhere in between.  My focus is Northeast Philadelphia (I used to live there) and the Philadelphia main line (because I live there now).  I also own several investment properties, have rehabbed and sold properties, and worked with many reale state investors and can give honest beginner's advice in regards to real estate investing.  My husband is a general contractor in Philadelphia and has a crew of 9 that mainly rehab small apartment buildings (usually shells) in the city.  You can visit his rather outdated website (I promise I will put up new photos soon) at: www.SHDConstruction.com to see samples of what we do.

Certifications

I was born in Hong Kong and am therefore fluent in Chinese - Cantonese and Mandarin.  I have bought, rehabbed, and sold more than 20 investment properties for myself, and have worked with a lot of real estate investors.  However - sorry - if you are a new investor and you are looking for an agent to show you 30 shells, I am not the agent for you (clumsy, scared of tripping).

I currently mostly help people buy and sell their primary residents - for buyers, to look for the best home within their price range, and sellers to enhance their property and make their property most appealing.  I am looking to be certified with the real estate staging designation, but in all honesty not all sellers can afford to hire a stager.  So my job is to help them price their property appropriately and make the property look the best that it can within the seller's budget/means.
