Get to Know Kathleen Leonard

Kathleen Leonard specializes in helping people sell and buy exceptional properties in the California Wine Country just north of the Golden Gate Bridge.  This is where she lives, works, entertains friends and enjoys the good life with her husband, Bob Leonard.  Kathleen founded Own the Wine Country in 2003 to help all of their clients achieve their real estate dreams in this beautiful area.

A graduate of the University of California at Davis, Kathy grew up in Northern California, where she learned to ride horses and ski at an early age.  As a past president of the San Francisco Professional Food Society, her former name Kathleen Prisant was familiar in the world of culinary arts. She is a published cookbook author, magazine writer, food stylist, developer of recipes and new products.  After successfully buying, renovating and selling homes in the San Francisco Bay area for twenty-five years, Kathy turned a passion into her profession.  A top producing agent for several years, she brings added value in today’s market as a Country Property Expert and a Certified Distressed Property Expert.

Kathy is a sustainer and past board member of Junior League of Napa-Sonoma and past board member of Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center and Sonoma Greens Homeowner Association.  She is President of Slow Food Sonoma Valley and an active member in Impact 100 Sonoma. Kathy and Bob sponsor the annual holiday Toys for Tots Disney Pixar movie at the Sebastiani Theater in Sonoma.  They also co-chair the Wine Country Marine Corps Birthday Ball; a major fundraiser for families of wounded warriors returning from the global war on terrorism.

Because she works mainly by referral, she spends her time serving clients.  This is her number one competitive advantage.

The Wine Country of Sonoma and Napa, according to Kathy, is as close to perfect as a place can be.  Her passion for this place shows in her enthusiastic marketing of her client’s homes and when it comes to finding a piece of this paradise for buyers. 2012 has been especially busy as both buyers and sellers watch the prices edging up.  Sellers see that it’s time to sell and buyers are afraid they will miss this great opportunity.  Come to the Wine Country and enjoy the good life.  Kathy is here to help you make your move!

The Sonoma Valley is the birth place of California's famed wine industry.

Wine Country doesn't get more real than Sonoma Valley, whose rich soils mark the birthplace of California's wine industry. It's also the closest wine region to San Francisco, just 45 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Cradled between the Mayacamas and the Sonoma Mountain ranges, Sonoma Valley encompasses a rolling patchwork of vineyards, quaint farms and 13,000 acres of scenic parkland. In the center of town, the eight-acre Sonoma Plaza is a National Historic Landmark, strewn with sprawling shade trees and bordered by carefully preserved adobe buildings. Up the road in Glen Ellen, author and bohemian adventurer Jack London lived and wrote at his pristine Beauty Ranch, now an 800-acre state historic park.
