| How I got to know James Tiernan from RE/MAX Center: The Army moved me to Waukegan IL area a few years ago and I didn’t know a lot of people in the area. My fiancé, Robin, cuts hair for a living and gained James Tiernan as a client. She cuts James hair on a regular basis and in conversation, Robin brought up that we were looking for a house. James mentioned to Robin about a seminar at Great Lakes Naval Base covering veteran home loans and Illinois veteran’s benefits. Being new to the state of Illinois I wanted hear about the state benefits for veterans. Robin and I went to the seminar and we were well informed and got full attention of the speakers. This is where I met James for the first time. It was easy to have trust and faith in James to handle all my real estate needs as we are both veterans of the armed forces. Veterans stick together and treat each other like family no matter which branch of service you belong to. James answered all my questions and explained everything without confusing me with “realtor lingo”. At the time I was looking to purchase a home instead of renting, but I was unable to purchase a home right away, so James helped us by showing us a few rentals houses as well. Once the time was right (a year later) and I was finally able to purchase a home. James reached out to us and stated “He found the perfect house for us”. James’s attention to detail and overall caring for my family’s needs directed us to the perfect house in one showing. He remembered what specific amenities we were looking for and knew that this house was perfect for us. In Oct 2013 James showed us the house and we closed on the property at the end of Nov 2013. James turned this perfect house into our home. James was there for me during the entire processes and answered any question I might have had no matter how petty it was. James and I remain in contact with each other after the fact and I help him as much as I can, just like he helped me. I highly recommend him to any family looking for place to call home. I talk about James to all my co-workers and friends who are looking for a place to live and pass out his cards to anyone in the market for house. Friends and family are there for you in time of need. James was there for me in my time of need. I don’t consider James Tiernan as my realtor anymore, he is now a close friend of the family and we invite James and Laura to all our family events.
