I Just Love This Business...  Where else can you meet so many excited people? Home buyers that have found just the right home in the perfect neighborhood and Realtors that have worked to help and guide them every step of the way. Most times it's not long before they'll go to closing and realize their dream and that's exciting.

Being an Inspector Isn't For Everyone... It's not something that you just wake up one day and say "I'm going to do this" although I'm sure that happens. For me it was blending all my past liefs into something I enjoy doing, and I really nailed it. So like everybody else that inspects I have actually done a room addition, remodeled homes, done major landscape projects that included a brick courtyard and water features, and I even "flipped" a house once. That's part of what I've done, and based on that alone I doubt I'd be inspecting today. I actually love to inspect and report, home buyers count on me. Part of my past life included plant management, quality control, sales/engineering tooling projects both in plastic injection molds and die casting dies, I worked with and directed many skilled folks to improve quality, improve profitability, and reduce lead times for new product to market. Not everyday was a good day and when you service customers like Kitchen Aid, Cummins Engine, Motorola, and Rubbermaid you quickly learn customer satisfaction. A little side note... my tooling team built and maintained every die cast tool for every part for every Kitchen Aid tilt mixer sold in the world! We created a continuous tool replacement plan and preventive maintenance program that is still in use today. So being a home inspector lets me provide a quality product/service where I can continually satisfy the home buyer with an eye for detail and a report that answers all their questions. I love this business and I don't miss the stress.

I Can't Do It Alone... there would'nt be enough time. Jeanette helps in more ways than I realize. Confirming appointments, proof reading reports, putting together client response emails, and making sure I stay on schedule. Jeanette spent years in retail sales of gold and diamond jewelry, she has managed stores, done buying, and has been paid to shop(nice work if you can get it!).

Certifications

I Can't Say... I have an area of expertise other than I seem to do well with out of town buyers. It could be because of our website www.MasterHomeInspections.com where buyers and sellers can't get all kinds of information about our services, book an inspection, and even pay on-line. We can provide radon surveys, mold testing, and arrange for clearence letters.

Here Are My Qualifications...

State of Tennessee Licensing Program

The Home Inspector Licensing Program was enacted April 18, 2005 to ensure that only qualified persons are licensed home inspectors, and that the licensed inspector offers Tennessee Consumers a professional, educated opinion of the condition of their homes.   "It is our mission to protect the public health, safety and welfare by ensuring compliance through education, licensure and regulation."       Home Inspector Licensing ProgramState of Tennessee

For more information regarding Home Inspector Licensing Program click HERE.

We believe in education and have the experience of completing many home inspections both in Ohio and Pennsylvania. We met or exceeded all state requirements for licensing prior it's enactment and proudly hold Tennessee Home Inspection License #002.

NACHI Certification

Certification with NACHI requires an entrance exam to become a member.  Other major home inspection organizations do not require an entrance examination at all!  That means you may be getting an inspector with very little experience or knowledge of the inspection industry.  Anyone can be a member of any of the other major home inspection organizations as long as they pay their fees.  They're called "candidate" members by some organizations.  So be careful.

The National Home Inspectors Examination

The attention to detail in this exam, and the exhaustive EBPHI Home Inspector Role Delineation Study of January 2003, ensures the National Home Inspectors Examination covers all home inspection job-related knowledge and skills. The examination also assesses competency in areas where lack of knowledge could cause harm to the public.

As of August 2003, twenty-two states require passing a technical examination for home inspector licensing, and fourteen of those states use the National Home Inspector Examination for this competence assessment. Five other states have some form of home inspector regulation and several others have legislation or regulation in development.

The National Home Inspectors Examination is the same standard test required for all ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors)members.
