Joel Blackledge is both a lawyer and a CPA. His practice focuses on real estate matters, both residential and commercial, where he has extensive experience representing both owners and lenders regarding ownership and financial issues. Mr. Blackledge's current practice includes a high volume of residential real estate transactions throughout Mississippi, but concentrated in the six coastal counties of the state

Mr. Blackledge also handles a variety of other matters, including, but not limited to, corporate and transactional matters; banking law; taxation; wills and estate planning; trusts and probate; family law; personal injury and bankruptcy. He has experience in healthcare law as General Counsel and administrator for a local healthcare entity, and he has served to re-open, develop, equip and manage an acute care facility and convert it to one of the first critical access facilities in Mississippi. He also has represented the public sector, having served several public entities in contract formation, negotiation, interpretation and adoption; competitive bidding; statutory interpretation; construction lending; litigation; and eminent domain.

Mr. Blackledge has a strong background in financial matters, having graduated magna cum laude with general and senior honors in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi. He has also served as an Adjunct Professor at William Carey, where he taught basic through advanced accounting and business law.

Mr. Blackledge is a lifelong resident of Mississippi, where he completed both his undergraduate and legal education, graduating from Mississippi College School of Law in 1997.
