Get to Know Jerry Wesson
I joined Provident Mortgage Group in November 2006 after retiring from a thirty year career in Computer Engineering. I started my computer career, in 1975, as a Senior Research Assistant, for Hughes Aircraft in Culver City, California. At Hughes I worked on the design of the F-18 Missile Fire Control System. Being a native Texan, in 1978 I accepted a position as a design engineer with Texas Instruments in Austin, Texas and have never left the Austin area since. While in Austin, I have worked for Texas Instruments, CompuAdd, Siemens Nixdorf, DELL Computer and Newisys. My last position was Director of Quality for Newisys.
Prior to my career in the Computer Industry I served ten years in the United States Navy. During my first year, I attended electronics school, Missile Test, Missile Radar and Nuclear Weapons schools. After school I served in the 7th Fleet including two tours in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968. I then completed training at the Naval Instructors School in Norfolk, Virginia and was stationed at the Naval Training Center in Dam Neck, Virginia. I taught Guided Missile Radar operation and maintenance for five years at Dam Neck prior to leaving the Navy in 1975.
My favorite pastimes, when I'm not assisting people with their mortgage needs, are riding my Harley and dancing with my wife.

Certifications
Recently I graduated from the prestigious XINNIX Mortgage Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. The training included 400 hours of intensive study covering 90 separate courses. The final exam was a four part exam taking eight hours to complete and required a minimum score of 80% to graduate. Only ½ of 1% of all loan officers in the US are XINNIX certified originators.
