ABR: Accredited Buyers Representative       All Realtors that take advanced training to REPRESENT BUYERS are placing these three letters after their name. IF YOU ARE A BUYER, then seek out Realtors that are trained in the laws to represent YOUR BEST INTEREST ! NOT ALL  buyers' agents in the transaction are an ABR.  Call me to learn the differance between a buyers agent and a sellers agent.

GRI: Graduate of Realtor Institute    Considered by Realtors to be like a GRADUATE DEGREE in Real Estate. A very in depth training, often completed after 5 years of training classes. Less than 4% of all Realtors have earned this designation. When you work with a GRI Agent you have a highly trained agent that knows more than the average agent.

SRES: SeniorS Real Estate Specialist     Special training of real estate agents to meet the  unique needs of  "retirees" and "empty nesters". Agents work combines their selling service and down sizing, to making housing choices from Active Adult Community to Assited Living, and Continuing Care Communities. They often network with other senior needs providers like in home care providers, medicare reps, geriatric and social workers, clergy, insurance and financial service reps.home repair contractors, and mortgage services all with special products and services for the aging.

CSA: Certified Senior Advisor    Unlike the previous designations, the CSA is open to all professionals not  just real estate agents. Real estate agents, certified public accountants, lawyers, social workers, medical providers, insurance agents, mortgage providers and other financial professionals ALL are trained to be aware of the many needs of the seniors. This training is both in depth and broad. It covers many areas beyond housing and teaches all senior providers the services of other professionals. Thus enabling each CSA to recognize the senior person's need and connect them with a caring trained provider. All CSA members follow a strict "Code of Ethics".

REALTOR:  Not every real estate agent is a REALTOR. Not every real estate provider is licensed. Realtors are licensed providers and members of the National Association of Realtors (NAR). All NAR members follow a strict "Code of Ethics".

FOR MANY SELLERS the first thing they ask an agent is; What is your Listing Fee or Commission? The correct question is: What is the marketing plan you will use to sell my house? The Realtor fee can then be judged by the seller based on what the Agent does or plans to do.

Think of it this way. The home owner sells the house. The home seller and home buyer set the price. The Realtor advertises to find a buyer.

Along with their Marketing Plan, ask the Realtor to show you their list of ACTIVE BUYERS, not their list of past buyers and sellers.
