I am a Built GreenTM Certified Agent and Washington state licensed real estate sales professional serving the major Seattle metropolitan area. I have worked in real estate or related industries since 1991. At different times I have focused on multifamily, retail, and commercial property management, mortgage broker marketing, or have worked for related service companies serving professionals in those areas. Since 2006 I have served as an independent housing consultant for Lane and Associates, Inc., a boutique brokerage that specializes in relocation and right-of-way transactions for several government entities and the Port of Seattle.
My personal passion and focus is green living - and how we can live well and also live with ourselves from a sustainable Earth perspective. My husband and I chose West Seattle as our home when we were married in 1997. We love it here! Currently we live in the newly redeveloped mixed-income community of High Point. HP is a Built GreenTM Certified Community and I love writing about my great neighborhood. My rescued Italian greyhound, Sophia, and I organize The High Point K9 Club. We enjoy walks together in the Pacific Northwest's great green spaces!
I run a blog at http://www.greenspacesrealestate.com/. In my work in real estate I am often inspired by things I see in homes, yard features, textiles, etc. The organic vs. local argument is interesting - but what about the organic vs. sustainable? I have both organic cotton sheets and also bamboo sheets (a product that came out last year). The organic sheets I bought at Whole Foods and they were expensive. The bamboo sheets, of the same basic blue color, I bought at Bed, Bath. and Beyond. What is the impact between these two products and the stores where they were purchased? I address this and other questions in my green musings.
