Get to Know Elias Thomas

Located in the heart of the YORK COUNTY LAKES REGION, our agency was founded by Richard "Duffy" Leach in the early 1930s.  We believe we are the oldest real estate firm in the State of Maine that is owned and operated by the original family.

In 1970, we moved to our present location at the FOOT OF MOUSAM LAKE, and since then, we have specialized in the sale and management of lakefront and country properties.    Four of our brokers are licensed in both Maine and New Hampshire in order to better serve our clientele who either own or wish to purchase properties on border lakes and the surrounding areas.

In March of this year, we changed our name through affiliation with an international corporation - we are now EXIT Key Real Estate, and ready to put our technology to work for you!

Experience counts and the combined number of years that our agents have been licensed is MORE THAN 90 YEARS!

We also provide seasonal and long-term rentals for properties in the area.

LET US PUT OUR EXPERIENCE TO WORK FOR YOU~

It is NOT always about how much you make...

back in 1978, I was invited to join the Sanford-Springvale Rotary Club. I did so and at the time, I probably was like a lot of other young professionals - looking to make business connections.  However, I quickly learned that through Rotary, I was able to go far beyond making these connections, but rather was able to give back to the communities served by my Rotary Club.  We worked together to improve the lives of those less fortunate all around the Sanford area.  It did not take long before I was also working on projects in other parts of the world.  Since 1997, I have worked in various countries - Romania, Mexico and India, on behalf of Rotary International.  Since 2001, I have been a part of several teams of Rotarians who have traveled to India, at our own expense, to help immunize children against POLIO.  When the tsunamis devastated parts of south India on December 26, 2004, I lead a team of Rotarians to south India over the next two years to help build an orphanage for the children who were orphaned by this tragedy.  In 2007, 2008 and again in 2009, my teams have worked in a Muslim village west of New Delhi, where we have funded and built washing platforms to restore the drinking water supply to SAFE; in 2008, I lead a team of 54 Rotarians from SEVEN COUNTRIES where we built a computer training center, a Day-Care Center; and in 2009, I will lead two different teams of Rotarians from several countries to again work to help ERADICATE POLIO and to build 35 toilet blocks so the 5,000 villagers will be able to care for themselves and to practice good hygiene. The reward for this is NOT a paycheck, but to see the smiles on the faces, especially children, who now will be able to live healthy lives, as a result of what we were able to do.  If you are interested in reading about what we did in February 2008, please visit my BLOG:  http://rotarydreamteam-india2008.blogspot.com I intend to write another BLOG this year, so keep checking and you will find that address and you can follow our progress.  Each year since then, I have led teams to India to immunize children against polio as well as to participate in various work projects, to benefit those who are less fortunate. My community is Acton, Maine and it is also Chahalka, INDIA.  In today's fast-paced world, borders are continually disappearing and someday, as a result of ROTARY INTERNATIONAL, and Rotarians throughout the world, we will succeed in bringing about greater understanding among the cultures of the world, thereby helping to achieve a true and lasting world peace.
