He pronounces "Boog" his last name like Boog Powell the former baseball player for the Baltimore Orioles, and for the past 25 years people in town have seen his real estate signs spouting up around town, yet Bob Boog manages to keep a low profile. Surprisingly, when I met up with Bob Boog we did not meet at his office. Unlike most real estate brokers who are fond of making you wait while they attend to business and then have little time for an interview -- at Boog's suggestion, we met at a local Starbucks coffee shop. He had arrived early for the occasion, and surprised me by being both low-key and prepared. He had already purchased a cup of coffee for me. Nice gesture, I thought, but this monkey can't be easily bribed by just one banana. He certainly will try to make you feel comfortable though for Boog can practically win you over with a joke and his infectious humorous personality. Bob Boog is a real estate broker who is likable and funny. He comes across as a sincere, down-to-earth, regular guy. The kind of guy who probably doesn't eat a burrito with a fork. However, if you dig a little deeper and if you enjoy psychobabble, you'll find evidence of a classic over-achiever. An Eagle boy scout, Boog was the middle child in a family of nine children. He attended local area schools, Peachland Elementary, Placerita Jr. High and William S.Hart High School in Newhall where he received a Merit (academic) scholarship to UCLA. He graduated with a BA in English in four years and passing his real estate test after studying from some books he checked out from the library.  Boog has been selling real estate since 1978, not only handling sales for himself but also assisting other real estate agents in his role as a real estate broker and owner of the company that bears his name: Bob Boog Realty. In his spare time, Boog who is married and has two sons, has lent a hand to the local Cub Scouts pack, and the local Toastmaster's club, and has managed to learn Spanish - a language he speaks fluently. Oh yes, in his spare time Boog has also written three books on selling real estate: Selling Homes 1-2-3, Real Estate Sales from Hell and Finding Killer Real Estate Deals. He probably would have made a good lawyer, a profession Boog claims that he thought of becoming, except that he had purchased a few houses after graduating from college and has since never looked back. When asked what he would like to say to our readers, Boog diplomatically stated, "I would like to publicly thank the people of Santa Clarita. I would be nowhere today without their support." "I just feel comfortable with Bob Boog Realty" is his office logo. Boog claims that a client's remarks inspired this motto and I think that pretty much summed it up. I just felt comfortable with him.
