Hi my name is Dawn Parkyn and I am affiliated with one of the largest independent company's in our area, Florida Luxury Realty. Founded in 1999, Florida Luxury Realty boasts over 200 agents, six offices and has a A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
I started out my real estate career early. My father was a successful "Estate Agent" with his own estate agency/development company and auction house in Cornwall, England and while the process of buying and selling in the United Kingdom is different, I can remember vividly our talks around the dinner table about what was going on in the market. At that time, I worked for his company in a mostly administration capacity but learned a lot about marketing, sales, professionalism and customer service by listening and observing all those years.
I now live in the town of Hudson, Florida - close to US 19 and the coast of West Central Florida, about 40 minutes north of Tampa airport and within a short drive to historic Tarpon Springs with its famous sponge docks, the beaches of Clearwater, Fred Howard Park, and of course St Petersburg. We are about 2 hours away from the attractions in Orlando and 1/2 hour south of the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
We found Hudson as a result of a newspaper advertisement for local builders aiming at customers in the United Kingdom. My family later moved to Florida in 1993 and I immediately set to work obtaining my Florida real estate license and have been serving buyers and sellers in Pasco and Hernando counties ever since!. I am a Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI) and am certified and an active advanced member of the CDPE organization - Institute of Certified Distressed Property Experts. I am proud to say that I am a Full Time Realtor.
Here in Hudson, we have affordable waterfont communities with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico, rural areas of acreage where horse and country lovers make their home and of course newer developments for the retirees, the golfing communites - we even have an airport community with its own runway and homes with their own hangers for private planes.
Beacon Woods is my chosen habitat. This highly popular deed restricted community has 2156 homes and 588 condos and villas with a championship golf course, beautiful established landscaping, miles of sidewalks where walkers can enjoy the peaceful natural beauty of the community and an active civic center with its pool, tennis courts and many other activities.

When the market turned for the worse, I felt it essential to educate myself when I realised that the sector of the market that we now know as "Short Sales" was becoming more and more common. I lookd around and found the Institute of Certified Distressed Experts and decided to attend their very valuable course and then became Certified. I became an advanced member and regularly attend the twice monthly market updates they provide in order that we as members are kept well informed with the most up-to-date information so that we may provide excellent service to buyers as well as sellers.

I get such delight in holding their hand through the process of home ownership, helping them realize the Great American Dream - it never gets old! I have experience in FHA/VA, County Funds and other First Time Buyer programs.
