David started in mortgage banking in 1990.  He graduated from Hope College in 1988 with degrees in Pre-Med Physiology and Business Administration.  He also holds an MBA in finance from Grand Valley State University and is a Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist, the highest designation available in the mortgage industry.  David has consistently been rated as one of the top mortgage loan officers in the country by Mortgage Originator Magazine. He has closed over 5000 loans totally in excess of $900,000,000 at this point in his career, in a small Midwest market.  In addition to managing a busy mortgage practice,  David is a nationally recognized author, speaker and trainer for the mortgage industry. David writes regularly for Mortgage Originator Magazine, Mortgage Planner Magazine and Bankrate.com.  He is on the teaching faculty of Loan Toolbox, Mortgage Market Guide and Mortgage Planner University. He is known as being an expert on First Impressions and Building Client Intimacy.  David also enjoys hosting monthly Site Visits at his office, where mortgage professionals from around the country spend a day of learning and experiencing first hand the operations of this highly productive mortgage practice.  David, his wife Michelle, five children, two cats and a dog live in Holland MI and Fort Myers FL.
