Matt Johnson -

Matthew and Meredith Johnson have over 14 years combined experience in the Real Estate Market. I am a North Carolina native born in Raleigh and grew up in Hickory-- an All American City in the western foothills of the state. My brother and I began visiting Cape Lookout and the Crystal Coast in 1995 with a group from our local fishing club.

I was fortunate to attend NC State University and graduated in 1997 with a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing. I was a member of SAE for the final 2 years on my college experience.

After graduating, I shucked oysters at 42nd Street Oyster Bar in downtown Raleigh until landing my first job as a marketing manager for a large tire and auto maintenance company based in Edenton, NC. Meredith and I married in the fall of 1998 and relocated to Hickory in 1999. I became the senior sales rep for a large IT consulting firm and ultimately was recruited to manage the data services for a telecom firm based in Western, NC.

I started my own technology installation company in 2001 and focused on new commercial and residential new construction. The company sold in 2007.

I became a licensed Real Estate agent in 2006 and relocated to Morehead City the same year. We opened RE/MAX in Morehead City that October. We have a son who was also born in the summer of 2006. My focus is on residential real estate and development as well as commercial sales and investment.

Meredith Johnson -

I am a native of North Carolina and lived in Charlotte when I was very young and moved to Hickory on my first Birthday.

I moved to Raleigh in 1995 and attended NC State University. I had an interest in the food industry business and worked at Carolina Country Club. Matt and I married in the fall of 1998 and I moved to Edenton, NC where I assisted in the start-up of a new area restaurant.

We relocated to Hickory in 1999 and worked in the insurance and financial departments of a large wealth management firm.

In 2001 I decided to change careers and became a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker where I made top producer within the first year. I was recruited away to work with a large land development firm developing tracts of land into residential neighborhoods. These included both single family and multifamily homes. My primary focus was on new construction sales.

I joined RE/MAX in 2004 and achieved 100% club designations. Matt and I moved to Morehead City in 2006 where we opened our RE/MAX office. I also had a son in the summer of 2006.

I am the Broker-in-Charge of our office and continue to focus on residential sales and new construction and development. My current designations are ABR and E-Pro.
