I have spent the last few years arming up with education in my profession. The times now are not for the weak and I found that getting designations and working toward my broker's license has given me an edge in my business dealings. I am happy when I meet someone and they fire off a hundred questions and I am not nervous because I have confidence that I know many of the answers or at least know where to get the answers if I don't. I have several designations. They are the ABR -Accredited Buyer Representative, the SRS- Seller Representative Specialist, the SFR-Short sale and Foreclosure resource, and the SRES- the Senior Real Estate Specialist. I am also a Platinum Club Member, awarded by RE/MAX International.
UPDATE!
All of these designations and more classes have been satisfied and I am delighted to say that I have obtained my Broker's license. It is a level of distinction that I am proud to have achieved. That achievement, in turn, benefits all who work with me.
I am a strong listing agent in my area for a few reasons but mainly I feel it is because I know the inventory, sometimes know what is out there but not on the market yet, and I like to market properties I have listed. When you are the seller, you need a marketer. You also need someone who networks well with peers because that is important, too. When you call me, you get me. By the time we finish the transaction, we know each other well and that is how it should be.
I list and show homes in the Avon Grove, Oxford, Octorara, Kennett, and Unionville Chadds Ford school district primarily but also have a few in North Wilmington. I like those areas but certainly would not turn down an opportunity to meet with any client that may want to talk about their home elsewhere. Marketing is marketing and if I think that I would add value to your transaction, I will tell you.
