Get to Know Brian Miller

I launched my blog - www.RealEsateEntropy.com recently.  The name of that blog defines and describes a lot about me and my approach to real estate.  You might be wondering why this bizarre, quirky, unusual name. Believe it or not there is at least a little rationale behind this.

First of all, I can be pretty quirky myself and I love looking for ways to operate “outside the norm”. Secondly I thought this perfectly represented my vision and goal for this web site. You see, “entropy” is often defined as the amount of disorder or randomness in a system. There is a tendency to move toward less disorder/randomness.

As it relates to real estate, my desire is that the amount of “disorder or randomness” approaches zero. Namely that if a person has access to adequate, accurate information regarding real estate matter, then the chaos, confusion, panic, frustration can give way to a more ordered, structured feeling.
Okay..that’s a philosophical/techie introduction, but it drives me nuts to see and hear so much conflicting information as it relates to real estate.

Charlotte and our surrounding communities have to be positively the greatest place in the country to live. I moved here in 1992 barely even knowing where Charlotte was. Growing up in the west Texas desert, I ventured off to Texas A&M and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering. (Ahhh…you’re saying no wonder the entropy - geek stuff). I’ve always loved engineering, but never could get into the pocket protector scene. After the university life, I ended up back in west Texas, met my wonderful wife, then ended up in Southern California for a few years.

Along the way, two incredible daughters entered the picuture, I’ve held public office (okay - it was small town, but still..), lived in a shipping container in Pakistan, taken sky diving lessons, wondered how anyone figures out this parenting stuff, and maybe most importantly met lots of great people and hope to meet tons more. It’s exciting to hear a person’s story - what brings them to where they are now. I love to hear and learn and experience new things - especially when those things a new, off-beat, and exciting. It would be easy for me to spend a fortune on college classes.
If you have a question about home remodeling or repairs, don’t hesitate to ask me. I love helping people….I’m full of advice. Seriously, I seem to have a knack for knowing how to do that stuff. I have even operated a part-time kitchen and bath remodeling business. People ask me all the time about various things along those lines. It is great fun to apply that knowledge in helping people find their dream home.
Hopefully you will find me to be completely honest in all my dealings, committed to service, and thorough. Throughout this web site you will regularly see me write “…call me (or email if that works better) if you have any questions. I’m going to do my very best to answer your question or help you wherever I can. That doesn’t mean you are going to have to endure a high-pressure sales pitch or otherwise be harassed into working with me…”
