Meet Bill Young
(California Dept. of Real Estate Lic #: 01365728)I am certified by the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) as an Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR)... by the way, I am the only ABR in Big Bear Valley.  I am also certified by NAR as e-PRO (Certified Internet Professional)... there are only 4 here in Big Bear.  To learn more about the training required to be an e-PRO, please click http://www.epronar.com/... and I am a certified Instructor for both WinFORMS and RELAY by the California Association of REALTORS (CAR)... that's the forms library and software that REALTORS use in all transactions.

In addition, you might ask what makes me different from the many other Real Estate Agents in the Big Bear Valley... For one thing, I have been involved with Internet commerce almost since it's inception in the early 1990's (please, no Al Gore jokes).  From a Seller's perspective, this experience gives me the ability to use the vast medium of the internet to help Market your home... after all, getting your home in front of Agents and interested Buyers is the principle method of selling your property.

And if you select me as your Buyer's Agent, I will provide you with information that is timely, accurate, and comprehensive.  After we find the right property for you, I will handle all aspects of the transaction, including negotiating the best possible terms and conditions for you.    My wife Cindy and I are permanent residents of Big Bear, and together we have four children and five grandchildren who love to visit our 4-seasons sylvan community.  We have lived in Big Bear for more than 8 years.

My background consists of 30 years of Sales and Marketing... from Product marketing to Corporate image marketing to Sales Channel development to the Board of Directors for several corporations. This background gives me the experience of working through large and small problems, keeping the Client happy, and creating a win-win situation for all concerned... It also gives me the guts to say "no" to terms that aren't in my client's best interest.

I understand that you are currently in the information gathering stage, and you may not be ready to give me your contact information... that is perfectly O.K. -- my personal policy is to respect your online privacy and proceed at your pace, not mine.  I trust that when the time is right, you'll contact me to help you buy or sell Big Bear properties... I promise to do everything that is legal and ethical to make your home buying or selling experience as painless, profitable, and enjoyable as possible.

Certifications

Most of my time is spent connecting Buyers with Sellers here in the Big Bear Valley.  Since Big Bear Lake is 2 to 3 hours from anywhere else in Southern California, I do get many Buyer and Seller referrals from agents throughout SoCal, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.   Consequently, I also take listings for Big Bear properties on a referral basis.  A major part of my business plan is making sure other agents have confidence in me and my knowledge of the Big Bear Market... and it's working!!  Just read some of the testimonals listed later in this section.

The reason the other agents send me their referrals is that I live and work in Big Bear Valley, and as a result, I understand how to competitively price a new listing against the other valley listings, and I constantly study the Big Bear real estate market statistics to understand what a "reasonable offer price" is.  Furthermore, there are many issues here in the Big Bear market that "down the hill" agents and clients simply have no experience with... for example, how do you do a roof inspection when it's covered with snow during the winter?  What and where is the Stop and Waste value?  Are there any local ordinances for properties bought and sold in the middle of the San Bernardino forest?  What are the local disclosures?  How do I winterize my home?  Can I rent my cabin out on the weekends?  I am also actively involved with the communities in Big Bear Valley, including being a VP in the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce.  This gives me the ability to fully represent the Big Bear Valley to prospective clients.
