Get to Know Bonnie Cox

Real estate has always been my passion.  Why?  Maybe it has something to do with the 20+ homes I have lived in from my birth until I finally set down roots in Harford County, Maryland five years ago.  Maybe it was the Christmas post card with the picture of the warmly candle lit house sitting in the snow and wanting to know what it looked like inside?

Maybe it was the fact that I was once addicted to Home Interiors?  Or the fact that the first place I ever spent more than three years in one spot was a military base? (Eight years!  I couldn't believe it!)

What I do know, is that I love helping people through the challenging times of buying or selling a home.  It's stressful!  And I've done it so many times growing up, I could probably pack your boxes for you faster than you can ask "What are my monthly payments?"

Thanks to my wanderlust spirit, I have taken upon myself to travel the back roads of Harford, Carroll, Baltimore and Cecil Counties.  I know the neighborhoods, I know the roads, the schools, your neighbors middle name (if that's important).  But most of all, I know what' it's like to want not a "house" but a "home".  Let's find that for you together.

For someone who absolutely hates sales and salesman, you might ask what I am doing here?   Read above.

I began my illustrious career in my early teens, selling Amway for my parents so I could earn the money to go to youth group trips in the summer.  My first job was working as a teachers aide for summer school migrant children.  Needless to say I didn't need mom's Amway anymore.  I thought I was done with sales.  Then came McDonalds (but that's not sales, is it?)

I spent six years in the Army Reserves while attending Delaware State University (Then Delaware State College.  They received their University status two years after I left . . . not fair).

I spent two and a half years selling cars.  I hated it.  I spent another four years working for a paper processing plant as a safety instructor.  I didn't hate that so much, but 12 hour shifts were hard with young kids.  So I quit and started my own advertising business.  Here I discovered that I had the gift of promotion.  This got me out of my shell.  I had to develop my own clients and build my own business.  I was good at it.  But I always wanted to sell houses.

So . . . I sold Insurance.  (This is like real estate-lite, because you still have to pass a test).  I did that for two years, for two different companies.  I still wanted to sell houses.  I wanted to help people put down roots . . . something I never had growing up.  Finally, I took the plunge . . . just as the housing market began to crumble.  Good.  Another basic training.  I can handle it, I told myself.

I couldn't have chosen a better time, a better area, nor with a better company to take that plunge.   I would like you to experience the same support I received from my company, in helping you find or sell your home.  You might appreciate the fact that I don't believe in wasting time . . . mine or yours.  I am direct and If I don't know the answer I will get it for you.  My priority is making sure your experience with me as your agent is excellent.
