Get to Know Avi Cohen
Close Window Avi’s passion for real estate started when he was in high school. Avi and a classmate were going to purchase a property that they would live in and rent rooms out of. Their plan was to save up the money they made off or rent in order to purchase a second property with two units, and then repeat this process, each time purchasing larger properties. Later, in 2001, Avi was renting an apartment in a three unit home in Minnesota that had potential to build a fourth. He bought the building. In 2002 Avi accepted a consulting assignment of helping a bath and body company called ‘All That’s Natural’ in Tempe, Arizona. The mission was to streamline the company, diversify its supply chain, and increase it’s’ market share by retraining it’s sales staff in best practices and searching major mall locations across the country (Specialty Leasing) for the company to sell its products. The search was based on specific traffic and locations criteria and mall demographics. He negotiated leases between the operators, the company and Mall Management companies such as Simon, Jones Lang LaSalle, General Growth Properties, Westfield, The Rouse Company, Urban Retail Properties, Macerich., and Pyramid. Avi helped them grow from having been kicked out of eight retail outlets in AZ, operational locations in MN, WA and GA and expanded them back into the AZ market, CT, NY, and MI. Avi became a member of the ICSC and attended the shows to meet with and match up operators with mall management. In 2003 Avi became Vice President All That’s Natural. In 2004, Avi was hired as a consultant to another retailer of bath and body products who wanted to create their own product lines. With Avi’s help, they were able to design “Seacret Spa” and are now one of the leaders in their industry. In this role besides advisement in logistics, marketing, sales, and packaging, he also researched locations nationwide for site selection assignments. In 2005, Avi attended the Arizona School of Business and Real Estate, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He became a member of the Scottsdale Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Avi was a licensed agent working in the Weinstein Fedri Group within Realty Executives, a large regional franchise type of brokerage. Under the leadership of Rob Weinstein and Ron Fedri whom were already top producers in Realty Executives, Avi quickly became a top producer within the group. This prompted him to suggest to Rob and Ron of the possibility of opening their own brokerage. Avi became cofounder of Weinstein Fedri Realty. As cofounder, he was able to help expand the brokerage by recruiting new agents and mentoring them. By 2007, he had personally amassed over $2 million in investment real estate. In 2007 Avi and his family moved east from Arizona to Pennsylvania to be closer to their families and Avi was hired as Director of Operations for a startup company in Bala Cynwyd, PA. Since 2009, Avi has been consulting companies in a range of levels including business management, , business debt management and elimination, online marketing and social media management he has also been helping people and families manage and eliminate their debts. In 2011 a mutual acquaintance introduced Avi to Alan Apt, President of Aptcor. Having missed being in the Real Estate industry, Avi decided that he would sign on with Aptcor to engage in the sale and leasing of commercial properties, assist in their growth plans, oversee client accounts, and help Aptcor to leverage new technologies such as social media to better serve its clients.
