Product Description

Waze is a naviagation helper. It helps you navigate through speed and red light camera, and it also helps with finding cheap (relatively cheap anyway) gas. It's my new best friend.

I love the b... See More Waze is a beautifully designed map and location finder. Not only does it estimate distance and arrival time, but based on live user updates, it will tell you where the traffic slows, estimate how long you may be delayed in traffic because of a slowdown or offer a better route with no additional time delay. I love the bold graphics that are easy to read, even without my glasses. You can easily switch between watching a live map as you smoothly coast down the freeway or just a list of turns and how many miles until that next turn. My favorite feature is that you can plug in your PLANNED DRIVES up to 6 days in advance. From the MENU, go to PLANNED DRIVES and plug in the address or name of the location or use VOICE command (I don't use that), it will search, you select and pick the day and time you want to arrive - it will tell you when you should leave your location. I do this every night before a tour the next day - it's now a ritual. It will send you an alert about 10 mins before it's time to go. That gives me enough time to text the valet for my car and away I go. To date, I haven't been late for an appointment. You save your FAVORITES by clicking on a star next to the address/locations and you have a folder of these to quickly go to. You can select permanent addresses for your HOME and WORK. You can add a stop along the way which is really useful if you need to find gas or go to a grocery store before you head back! It will let you sync to Facebook events that you plan to attend, I don't use that feature. I wish it would sync to my Google Calendar, then it would be a PERFECT app for me. You also receive points for alerting other users as to where police are, accidents, traffic flow, potholes, debris in the road, construction, stopped vehicles and a host of other options. I'm not really sure the point of awarding point but I think it lets you switch user avatars. You can also see what friends are online and beep at them or send a message which seems a bit dangerous. You can also let someone know when you'll be arrive at a location to meet them. It's really an amazing and FREE app! They seem to underwrite it by selling ads. Which you can choose to save in your mailbox or pass on. Also, the clever way you can change your settings to change the audio voice commands is cool. There are 6+ voice selections, I like the JANE voice. There are a host of other useful features but these are the ones that really stand out for me. If they ever started changing for WAZE, I'd definitely pay for it.

When I was using this app, I found it really distracted me from my driving. Unless you are sitting stopped in traffic it can be very dangerous to report.
