The primary advantage to this service is that you do not need to have existing phone service on your phone to use this. Your phone can take advantage of WiFi WITHOUT having service. It was free so I get to try. The quality of voice was not crispy clear. Since I have an iphone with family plans there is not a shortage of minutes, I discontinue the free service. I think one may need to pay for overseas.

I use Google Voice primarily on my smartphone. I have it on the homepage and tap the microphone to ask a question and it does an automatic search to answer it. “What is the phone number for ABC Realty?” gets me the number and usually the address and hours the office is open.

This is a good tool to use especially if you don't want to give out your personal cell phone number.I partner with an investor and use this number to get calls on properties that are being flipped. It serves as a self qualifier and saves time. It does have limitations but it is free.

Flexible but service isn't highly reliable. Calls do break up from time to time.
I have been using another voice service for years but wish GV was available when I started!
