Every time we disparage the state of the economy and talk about the terrible state of real estate, we create a self fulfilling prophesy. It is my view that if we are positive, then positive things will happen. There are great opportunities in the market and it is time to stress the positive, and put a bow on it.

I will soon head out to the post office. (I get no mail delivery in my small town) I am limiting my trips for mail to but two a week. Who knows, if this is ongoing for much longer I may go only once a week. It is so strange to me in so very much. It is cold this morning, but if it warms, I may st...

I live in the Berkshires in western Maasachusetts. Two days ago we had about six inches of snow. Yesterday was warmer and the locals were out and about. For many of us who have been in for some time now, it was refreshing to see the ones who were not around in awhile. So I thought I would share t...

I am so very sick about all of the pets that are being euthanized because many shelters are closed and there just aren't enough people to care for the animals. Everyone is off their game now. You may not want to be a pet parent forever but if you are able to save a dog or cat now I urge you to do...

With so much time to think many things I seldom wonder about have become front and center now. Perhaps some of this has come from speaking to old friends I haven't seen or spoken to for years. It is funny, with some it was like no time has passed and with others I mostly listened and felt like th...

Two weeks ago yesterday I flew back from Chile, where I had spent ten days in Santiago and then mostly in Patagonia. I fly Business Class and met a Chilean man next to me who was traveling for work to Chicago and then Detroit for about six weeks. I have thought about him a lot in the last couple ...

I am thinking a lot more than usual lately, and I have deduced that time well spent is neither something to be taken for granted or taken at face value either. In these troubling and uncertain times I am thinking about lots of things but foremost among them is time spent with good people in good ...

I have lived in the Berkshires for some nine years now. I found this area years ago and traveled here often in summers to enjoy Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. When I contemplated a place to retire this was high on my list. The Berkshires is literally a mountain range...

I, like most of us are really tired of this. It is hard being isolated but I am getting used to it. I went out to get food and other supplies yesterday. I got home before the serious snow, took a hot shower and did a load of wash. Today I am in, and after a few scotches yesterday I am getting som...

There is much to be said for routines. For me, making my bed is something I do every day no matter what, and so I am continuing to do so now. I think this simple thing sets the tone for my days. I like seeing a clean room and I appreciate getting into a bed I can turn down. That's my thing, what'...

Well my day is made. My hairdresser just called because the salon where I get my hair cut is closing before my Tuesday appointment. She wanted to call me personally and she was wonderful offering to do my shopping if I wanted or help in any way possible. I have been impacted by the isolation and ...
