A few days ago I was at a meeting with another Realtor who used to live in, and still owns property in one of West Palm Beach's historic districts --- I do as well and would never even have thought about getting into real estate 17 years ago had not been for the historic districts here.  My Realt...

November 2009 statistics:  No surprise here really - but 79% was a little more than I expected.  Properties between $300,000 and $400,000 added another 9% - not much room left (12%) for properties in excess of $400,000!  I don't expect these statistics to change significantly at any point soon.

Now HERE is a positive step.  This morning's Palm Beach Post reported that the City of West Palm Beach is getting pretty darn tired of bank owned properties with no one seeming to care for them (to say the least) and often with City code violations mounting.  No plan is set yet, but all cities sh...

The particular section of Palm Beach County that I pay the most attention to is the historic districts south of downtown West Palm Beach.  These are mainly single family homes, with some condos and a smattering of townhomes thrown in.  In early January 2008 there were 524 units on the market.  Ea...

No surprises here.  But it's interesting to look at the breakdown. From my MLS research, there were 1,614 sales of all types of properties in November 2009 in Palm Beach County.  30% were condos, 51% were single family.  Short sales accounter for 25% of the total.  And 79% were sales of propertie...

Someone just called on one of my listings.  She inquired about the number of bedrooms and baths, price and whether there was a pool.  Then she said the usual - "Ok, thank you very much."  And I said "You're most welcome." ..... and hung up.  And I said to self:  Ouch!  You didn't even ask if you ...

Darn it, I'm going to do it, do it, do it.  Ignored the parties, the fireworks and went to sleep.  Got up very early and WALKED to the office and back with my laptop and worked on one of the last steps to clean out my e-mail (don't ask how many!) in my in-box.  And of course there are potential c...

Our bank foreclosure specialists had to attend a day-long meeting here in Palm Beach County, Florida yesterday.  They have said that, due to moratoriums on foreclosures the past month or two, they've been a little shower than they were.  They were told yesterday that the wave of foreclosures head...

I run some statistics each Monday.  One of them is the inventory of housing units (all types - but they are mostly single family) in the Intracoastal section of West Palm Beach, Florida, Palm Beach County, south of Okeechobee Blvd. down to the town of Lake Worth and east of I-95.  This morning's ...

South Florida, West Palm Beach .....most of 2007 I played with my cooking recipes .... most of 2008 I lived off rentals and withdrew from savings, withdrew, withdrew.... There were NO files in the "pending" section of my file drawer.  Any agent who said (s)he was doing well was lying. Suddenly I ...
