"I was recently contacted by a representative of a department of the British Government looking to assist companies expand into North America.

They did a simple Google search "top commercial real estate agents in North America". The first item of page one of Google was the Active Rain list for "Commerical Real Estate Agents". I'm third on the list following two from the United States, one in Las Vegas and another near Washington. That clearly makes me #1 in Canada. They have a whole list of referrals.
