"I was representing a couple who was selling their home and buying another home at the same time. After 3 months of delays, the buyers of the home they were selling fell through from their financing.

Meanwhile, the sellers of the home my clients were buying were in the process of foreclosure.

I called all of my preapproved buyers and was able to bring my own buyer into the home in time to get the first-time home buyer's credit. Additionally, I was able to delay the foreclosure attorneys with addendums extending the closing date on the other home.

The new buyer I brought in was pleased to know that all of the inspections were already complete, the deck and a retaining wall had recently been replaced, and a radon mitigation system had been installed in the basement.

Additionally, my other client ended up getting a brand new septic system in the property that they were purchasing and the sellers of that property are avoiding foreclosure.

Shew, in today's economy, I just never know what is going to happen. Finally, being with the number one company, having years of experience, growing up in a real estate family, and all of those years of continuing education REALLY paid off!"

"We moved here from northern Ohio 15 years ago and love it here, however, it was a struggle. We came here knowing no one, after leaving an area we had lived in for over 20 years and were very involved with. Just sold hour home, quit our jobs, which was okay as the area was not doing well anyway, and started from scratch in what you might call our combined "mid-life" do over! We stayed with Joe's step-brother who was basically a hermit and never went anywhere except work (he's a great dentist by the way!) Joe went to real estate school and I got a job in a doctor's office so we would have a paycheck. Things were slow at first but then they finally clicked. I joined Joe 2 years later, and at that time we were with a large franchise. Ww were wiith them for over 10 years and then started our own company and the rest as they say is history. Not to say it has been easy by a long shot, but, wouldn't change it for the world. I guess the whole point is, you can teach an "old dog new tricks".... and we are looking forward to seeing what is down the road for us! "I have many AR stories. I actually joined ActiveRain a couple of years ago. I began blogging, but never did it consistently because I was innundated with business. Not a bad problem to have right? :) I got my first AR listing and closed the transaction at the end of 08' thanks to a referral from fellow AR member Debbie Barrera in Austin reading about me and reaching out. I've gotten quite a few calls from people who've read my blog on AR and have invited to their homes to give them a market analysis on their home's current value.
